QuickBooks Helpsheets – Creating a journal entry
- Once logged onto your accounts, click on the “+” sign in the top right-hand corner.
- Choose “Journal Entry” under the “Other” menu.
- In the new window – fill out all of the areas you need to – date, journal number, nominal accounts, debits/credits/description. When entering the Account Name you can just start typing the account and then choose it from the drop down menu, or click on the dropdown arrow that appears and choose it from the list.
- Once you are happy with the details click “Save and Close” or “Save and New” to enter a new journal.
